Backup, restore & reset

Backup, restore & reset

Encrypted settings backups, restore previews and the difference between reset and deletion.

Export encrypted settings

In Tools → Import and Export, select the sections and set a password. Review whether credentials, connections and destinations are included. Store the file and password safely, away from public site folders. A settings export does not replace full file and database backups, and a lost password should not be assumed recoverable.

Restore with review

  1. Back up the destination site too and check sending status.
  2. Provide the file/password and run the restore preview.
  3. Review records, conflicts and destination mappings.
  4. Read replacement effects and explicitly confirm.
  5. Recheck connections, destinations, templates, profiles and rules; enable only what is needed.
  6. Reverify destination permissions and inspect the existing queue before continuing.

Restore disables imported routes for review and pauses automatic capture and sending. Prior activation is not accepted as sufficient verification. Restore itself does not send or replay old messages.

Factory reset is not complete deletion

Reset restores settings and pauses routes/sending, but does not delete tokens, templates, the purchase license or sending history. Back up first and read the confirmation; reset is not the first remedy for every problem.
